My hair...

Being blessed with a bang cowlick or two is starting to be a real drag.

Here's me and my bangs in the morning...

Here's me and my bangs in the evening...

I don't know what to do with it anymore!

I will say that my hair is growing approximately 1/2 inch every 3 weeks!  WEIRD!  Could it be my new protein infused shampoo?  I got two inches cut off a few weeks ago and not a soul noticed.

Grow out the bangs and keep it split?  Continue to try with all my might to make them cover my melon sized forehead?  Suggestions please.

Kitchen...

So, first, let me apologize for the grainy photo's of the "new new" kitchen.  Not sure what is going on with my camera!  Anyway, I'll start out with a picture of the original kitchen.  Check out all that 1980's business going on!

Then, I painted the cabinets in 2007 and tried to update a bit.

Now, I've re-arranged the fridge, painted the countertop, updated the hardware, re-painted the cabinets, switched out the appliances and I think I'm pretty much done.  I do have the flooring which I hate and the rug I want and don't have but overall I'm pretty happy with the results.

I really wanted white dishes for these shelves but have had a difficult time finding lightweight white!   For now I'm going retro with my thermo ware and melmac.

What do you think?   Any better?  Be honest please!  :)

Uh-Oh

I couldn't help it .. retro, mint condition, two piece, Mastercraft couch!  Any guess on cost?  Should be interesting trying to figure out a place for it!

jet lag?

Can you get jet lag from a 3 hour drive?

 Well, I swear you can.

 I'm pooped.

Weekend was nice and relaxing with no major WOW moments.  Went to the big antique/flea market, hit a movie and ate really good food!  Only spent $12 on a set of colorful retro bowls (which you'll see when kitchen photo's are complete).  Of course, I could have spent more but nothing too exciting and to die for was there.  No glass jars or lotus bowls either.  What's the deal with that?

Well, I'm tired so I'm out.

Headed out...

I about had a heart attack when I found this for $1.00.  Had a broken tail but everyone knows that every mod house has a wooden monkey like this!  Of course, it's not danish but japanese so no major value to it but nonetheless, LOVE it.  So I created this print which I will be adding to Etsy next week.

Me and the hub are going out of town tomorrow afternoon thru Sunday.  Nothing special happening, just need some time together!  Can't wait to take a break from the massive list of things I've created to do around the house.

Hope everyone is well and I will of course resume posting when I return!

Peace out peeps.

Had a sale!

People are really liking this horse print!  Sold one last week!

I'm so tired from all these house projects and am so looking forward to working more on the art for pete's sake!  One more room to go PLUS a few other minor things and I should be good to go.  I'm so wanting a rug for the kitchen but have to wait until some money starts rolling in.  Plus I can't forget that Christmas is right around the corner and kids love Christmas . . .

Oh, FYI, John's been driving a car that his dad bought for him  (kind of, long story).  Anyway, it has this major steering wheel vibration and not all the time so we took it in and they said nothing was wrong.  I felt better, until I drove it again and still felt it.  Today, dumped it off to a different place and it has a bad tie rod!  I guess that means that the steering wheel wouldn't work properly if it broke!  YIKES.  We are driving it out of town for the weekend too!

Oh, the projects...

Hey everybody!  Sorry for the long delay in blogging but I've got a limited amount of time before the cold air hits and the furnace turns on!  Here's one project that is finished, the steps.  Tore out the carpet, painted three coats of paint and voila,  plain and simple steps.  The little carpet thingy's are a little small but for now it will do and they were only $10 so as far as I'm concerned, they are adorable!  :)  If only I could rip out the oak banister and dated spindles, my entry would be more my style but someone you all know says it's a bad idea.  party poop.

I also got this amazing product from my father-in-law.  After 8 years of grout stain madness in the kitchen and bathroom, this stuff is like a miracle in a bottle.  $15 for a bottle but nonetheless, awesome.  Used every last drop of it.  Took me 3 hours for the kitchen alone.  If you have grout stains, give it a try, plus it is all green and pet friendly. Who'd a thunk?

Here's a secret shot of our roofing guy.  His name is Kon.  I told John it's just our luck that the guy is named Kon.  Anyway, he worked for three days and due to the lack of rain, I still don't believe the problem is solved but I'm hoping!

Here is a shot of the newly redone wall!

So I also decided to paint all the trim on the main floor, re-paint the kitchen cabinets, paint the kitchen countertop, paint and re-do the office.  Ugh, I'm like a pregnant woman in the 9th month for crying in the beer!  Nesting.  I just can't wait for winter to have it all done!

Here's a kitchen shot - before and during . . . lovely huh?  After shots are still to come due to it NOT BEING DONE.  (check out the new floaty shelves in shot #2)

Well, that's it for tonight - hopefully I will have more to report soon.  I miss all of you guys!
